COPA hosted its first-ever Memorial Golf Tournament in early October to honour Clyde Peterson, who passed away last year August following a lengthy battle with cancer.
It was a beautiful, sunny day at Richmond Hill Golf & Country Club; a perfect day to play the game Clyde loved! The golfers had a great time out on the course and finished the day with a delicious lunch. Brad Pirie of Pirie-McKie, Clyde’s long time colleague and friend, closed off the event with a humorous and heartfelt speech that reminded participants of Clyde’s best qualities which are so dearly missed.
The Best Team prize went to Kelly Flack, Rick Collard, Jason Ruche and Terry Haines (TOPS) with a score of 60 (10 under par). Longest Drive went to Doug Cowie (men’s) and Dianne Kerr (Women’s), while Matt Somerville was Closest to the Pin.
All-in-all, the tournament raised $2,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society.
A special thank you goes out to Crestar and Fellowes for their sponsorship, as well as all the participants who made the day a great success!
