Have you heard? COPA is taking the guesswork out of doing business with the Government of Canada by bringing a representative from PWGSC’s Office of Small and Medium Enterprise (OSME), along with two leaders, Paul Dorion and Guy Ranger, from the Commercial and Consumer Products Directorate, to share valuable information about the machinery of Government procurement and the tools available to suppliers, as well as the procurement strategy for office supplies.
COPA’s WakeUp! Breakfast Series, Government of Canada Procurement Strategy, will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at the Toronto Airport West Hotel (see event details below). In addition to the presentation, COPA members also have the opportunity to book a one-on-one meeting with Mr. Dorion and Mr. Ranger—there are a limited number of appointments remaining on Friday, October 31st in the afternoon; Thursday afternoon and Friday morning are fully booked!

OSME functions within Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) to support the Government of Canada’s commitment to a procurement system open to Small and Medium Enterprises and regionally based businesses. OSME’s mandate is to ensure fairness, openness and transparency in federal government procurement and works to reduce barriers and simplify the requirements for SMEs that want to do business with the Government of Canada. OSME will be presenting key information about how to sell to the Government of Canada, including:
- Understanding the procurement process
- Registering in supplier databases
- Building relationships
- Searching for opportunities
- Obtaining security clearances
- Bidding on opportunities
Guy Ranger is the Supply Team Leader in the Office Furniture Division and Paul Dorion is Team Leader in the Strategic Support Services Division, both from the Commercial and Consumer Products Directorate. They will be discussing PWGSC’s office supplies procurement strategy, including:
